Hi dear,
This upcoming moon also marks a change in season. Summer to fall, or winter to spring, depending on where you are in the world. I wonder what new season is about to emerge in your life?
Whatever it is, I’d love for you to meet it with us. This moon we have our first Moon Practice together in community, and two circles are opening. Everything with a date is below.

The moon ahead
|
| |
|
We’re calling this one Teal Moon. There are many lenses for the meaning of a moon; here are three, in case one of them gives your practice a shape.
Astrology. The cycle opens with the new moon in Virgo, a sign known for quiet attention to detail and the instinct to be useful. The full moon lands in Aries, facing the sun in Libra across the sky: a pull between standing alone and staying in relationship.
Vedic. In the Hindu calendar this new moon opens Pitru Paksha, sixteen days set aside to honour one’s ancestors. It closes with Mahalaya Amavasya, the day for remembering everyone who came before, known and unknown.
Folk. In the Northern Hemisphere this cycle’s full moon is the Harvest Moon, the full moon closest to the equinox. It was prized because it rises at nearly the same time for several nights running, giving farmers extra evening light to bring the crops in.

Practice Story: Morning Pages
|
| |
|
Practiced daily by Derya in Berlin π©πͺ |
|
“It’s the time my mind is quiet before the day starts pulling at me. When I skip it, thoughts stack up quickly for me until I sit down and write them out. It’s not about what I write, it’s what it clears.”
|
| |
|
Mode writing Β· Direction grounding, releasing Β· Realm functional, works through what you do, not what you believe Β· Path none
What it is. Three pages of longhand writing, first thing in the morning. No editing, no rereading, no audience. It comes from Julia Cameron’s The Artist’s Way, and it works as a way to meet yourself on paper.
How to try it. Sit down with paper before you touch your phone, and keep going until three pages are full. Don’t stop to think, don’t fix anything, don’t read it back. Nothing here needs to be good.
Before you start. Unfiltered writing can bring up things you didn’t expect. If something heavy arrives, it’s fine to stop and step away. This isn’t a practice you have to push through.

This moon we’re…
|
| |
|
sitting with Bayo Akomolafe on moving through chaos without needing to control
moved by the Buddhist documentary For the Benefit of All Beings
humming along to Kabbalah Kirtan
learning from Faisal Muqaddam on pregnancy and relationship as a spiritual path
inspired by having seasonal practices for kids

This was the first moon letter. I’m curious: How did you like it? What else would you like to see in future ones? Just reply to this letter. It comes straight to me.
